Trichom Patch

The Trichom Patch is banana pseudostem that has been colonised by Trichoderma and pressed into a patch. You place it in the root zone at planting and leave it there. The substrate is the same crop waste the plant produced, so the carrier is not an inert filler — it is food the fungus keeps living on.

Why the root zone and not a spray

Trichoderma works by getting there first. It occupies the space around the root that a soil pathogen would otherwise take, which is why delivery matters as much as the organism. A drench or a seed treatment puts the fungus near the root once; a patch keeps a living population sitting in it.

What the colony count means

8.6×10¹⁰ CFU per gram is 86 billion living organisms in every gram of substrate, measured by an NABL-certified laboratory and carrying a report number. A colony count is not a measure of how much product is in the pack — it is a measure of how much of it is alive, which is the only figure that decides whether a biological input does anything.
