The science behind Trichom

CFU stands for colony-forming unit: one living organism able to reproduce. A CFU count is therefore not a measure of how much product is in the bag. It is a measure of how much of it is alive.

That distinction is the whole business. A biological input is a population of living fungi, and a population that dies in storage or on the way to the field does nothing when it reaches the root. Two products can look identical in the hand and differ enormously in the only number that matters.

8.6×10¹⁰ CFU per gram means 86 billion living organisms in every gram of substrate. The count matters because Trichoderma works by getting there first: it colonises the root zone and occupies the space a pathogen would otherwise take. More living organisms at the start means faster colonisation, and faster colonisation is the difference between suppressing a disease and arriving after it.

The figure is measured by an NABL-certified laboratory and carries a report number, so it is a third-party result rather than a claim we make about ourselves.
